Season’s Greetings!

Wishing All A Safe & Wonderful Christmas Holiday

Dawn Moon: Poetry

One Glorious morning, I awoke to behold dawn’s waking threshold. Hannah and I readied ourselves for our ritual walk. To my astoundment, Moon stood high on his throne in all his opulence!

Proud of his countenance, Moon softly glistened. A Rotund – plump face – glazed in peaches and pinks. Ebon branches gracefully tattooed designs upon his glowing visage.

Silent fog drifting and billowing like pixies returning to their lairs before Ra’s arrival. Casting tiny pearl drops upon my face and hair, while shawls of delicate dew clung softly around me like a 1930s evening gown. Flowing, Swirling long fingers of mist reach up to greet the dawn.

River whispered, ever flowing to the far beyond. His massive cape reflecting silver shards of blue, gray shimmer.  Moon gazed upon his likeness, while river turned his rippled back; mirroring Moon’s Magnificence. Gently plucking, river snared moon’s kindled blush to adorn his cape.  Like old friends, they offer gifts to each other.

Silence engulfs this arena, this stage, this enchanted hour.  I dare not speak for fear of destroying some sacred vow.

My mind captures this moment like an amulet passed down by elders.  I wish this event could last forever. But alas, with sad regret I turn and leave for home.

Poetry About Fall: Ode To The Autumn

Radiant golds, spicy reds and sumptuous oranges rain down swirling, dancing, floating in silent bounty.  Ra’s fragmented beams shatter through branches forging chocolate silhouettes.

Breath escapes and dissipates into frosty spirits. Sky’s sapphire face sparkles fresh, clean and brilliant. No one cloud would dare blemish this moment!

The distant merriment of children wafts resonance of joy, resting on the shoulders of passer-bys.

Fall has arrived in all it’s splendid glory! Oppressive Summer has long last gone to rest.

Autumn’s bulging paintbrushes frantically splatter dazzling colors over hills, trees and valleys.  What a wonderful time of year has been bestowed upon us!

The Time has come for celebrating this New Equinox! This New Autumn!  Gracing all with clear, clean rejuvenation of body and spirit! Welcoming Pumpkins, Presents, Family Gatherings and the Sweet Scents of Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Luscious Pine!

Plump Red Apples piled high in baskets readying for pies and tarts and other yummy snacks!

Amber Wheat carefully wrapped in country ribbons adorning hearths and doors.  Wreaths chocked with tiny emulets, glorious bows and greetings to all. Towns decorated in visions created in the mind of Normal Rockwall.

Mounds of leaves, carefully stacked only to be undone by the jaunty joys of children.  Fireplaces spew pivoting, scented smoke upwards to the heavens.

Rejoice in this Brief, Plentiful, Splendid Time of Year! This Splendid Fall!

Wishing All, a Wonderful Season!

A Halloween Poem by Ellen Thorp

What Creepy Doings are with us Tonight? A Bump or a Bang – a Scratch or a Bite!

Delicious darkness embraces this night! Witches and Kittens grin with delight! While visions  behold transparent Ghosts! Pumpkins displayed in unrivaled boasts. Shadows of flickering candles on walls; their dance quickly rises, then suddenly falls.  Transforming shapes at the flick of a wick! Or are these forms a Spiritual Trick?

Demonic stars pierce night’s purple veil, dripping like diamonds over hill and dale. Creepy, foreboding shadows glide past, on tree trunks and fences their silhouettes cast. Oh my! What was That? Are things what they seem? I could’ve sworn I just heard a Scream! Ghostly Boys in Moms’ finest sheets! Dancing with Fairies is Oh Such a Treat! Cackling Witches shatter the night, on mythical broomsticks, they ready for flight. Ghastly monsters with hatchets creep by. Bats are soaring ever so high! Masks of Plastic and Hairy,  Fiendish and Scary! Prickling of Ears and Twitching of whiskers, while tales of headless horsemen are told in low whispers! Devilry sweeps through this night! Sharp and pricking like a watchman’s light!

The air is abounding with chatters and giggles; with added tones of snickers and sniggles. Happy little goblins dig deep in their sacks, for much needed yummies and delicate snacks! Little Beasts with Treats, tired and worn, return to their homes before dawn is born!

Oh What a Bewitching, Mysterious Eve!

So Many Oddities! I Can Not Conceive!

Puppies in Hats! Bows on Black Cats!

What Could This Mean?

Oh Yes! Of Course! It’s Halloween!

Have a Happy & Safe Halloween

Ode to Jake: The Homeless Cat who Touched my Life

The Homeless Cat Who Touched My Life

Dauntless and Fervent, Benevolent and Gracious….
A Lonely Soul of Pure White Light
You walked into my life on the Wings of Angels.

A True Friend of Unconditional Assurance.
You would wait like a Guardian at the Gate each and every hour of each and every day, for my return.

I’d see your tiny outline pressed against the glare of Ra.
War-torn and Ragged.. Awkward and Soiled.. Plain and Simple.
Many turned away… Many eyes saw homeless and worthless… Not I!
I saw, in you, the Land of the Gods that you sprang forth from.

In your eyes – I saw the nobility of your ancestors, the temples constructed in your name.

I saw the Face of God!

Your tired limbs revealed scars and pain from your plight.  Yet, undeniable strength to carry on.

You gave to me what no mortal could conceive..
A bounty of Devotion, Certainty and Endurance; flowing endlessly from the Aura of your silent Spirit.

Time has run its course – allowing me but one brief moment to have been adorned with your company.

You were never homeless and stray in my company! My arms would give you welcomed shelter from the raging storms that encompassed your tiny life.  Giving comfort from your fears – dearest of dear friends.

I’d offer up my home with acceptance on your terms.  Decidedly, you would leave to roam the ebon nights, knowing this was your natural longing.

I’d mend your wounds and sing lullabies to ease your shattered soul.

You have moved on from the confines of this life.  I sing only to the empty darkness of night.
Stars serve as messages from you, messages I am not able to understand for now.
My tears trickling into mist, I silently call your name. I know you hear me in this abyss of silence.

You sit beside me and sing your songs of ancient purrs.
You come to comfort me..

My heart lies heavy in your absence..
Oh Ancient Sekmet!  Protector of Pharoah!  You have brought comfort to my breaking heart.
My soul is rich with what you have so graciously given to me…
My soul is broken with what has been taken from me…
What a cruel balance lies in that.

Now you have returned to your Land of Gods!
Your step is Free and Quick!
Your coat is Clean and Silky!

You Are Reborn!

Please remember me, my dearest friend, for you will live with me for all eternity…
